Reminiscence in Oral History, Training - 5th April, 2018

Over a two hour session, seven service users, three SubCo staff members, a carer, and a student from UEL, learned about how reminiscence sessions can be of benefit their participants as well as project outcomes and outputs. The group took part, coming up with their own ideas of themes to explore in these sessions, and how to use different senses to stimulate memories. We ran through some activities from a sample reminiscence session—using smell to bring back the past—and came up with ideas for follow-up questions that would enable participants to explore and share their past in greater depth.
